Residential Support
A stable place to live with support built into daily life.
Long-term residential care for adults with chronic or persistent mental health needs who require more than outpatient care or occasional check-ins.
Residents live in a structured, home-like setting with clinical case management, medication support, and help managing routines, appointments, relationships, communication, and daily responsibilities. Support is tailored to help each person build greater stability, confidence, and independence.
Who Residential Support may be right for
Residential Support may be appropriate for adults age 18 and older who are living with chronic or persistent mental illness and would benefit from a structured, long-term environment.
This may include individuals who need:
Residential Support is intended for individuals who can safely take part in a community-based setting with the support of Wild Acre’s clinical team and outpatient providers.
It is not an inpatient treatment center. Individuals who require continuous on-site medical or nursing care beyond what the program provides may need a higher level of care.
What Residents Can Expect
Daily life is structured, supportive, and intentionally home-like.
Residents are encouraged to take part in household responsibilities, maintain routines, participate in activities, and build greater confidence in daily living.
Support may include:
The goal is not simply to complete tasks. It is to help residents practice the skills they need to live with greater stability and independence.
Clinical support and coordinated care
Residents receive 24-hour on-site staff support, seven days a week, along with clinical case management from licensed mental health professionals.
Each resident works with a designated case manager who helps coordinate goals, routines, appointments, medication support, family communication when appropriate, and collaboration with outpatient providers.
Support may also include treatment planning, crisis intervention and de-escalation, coping skills development, vocational support, and daily living guidance.
An on-call psychiatrist is also available to consult with residential staff if a clinical need arises.
A home-like environment, designed to feel safe, settled, and connected.
Wild Acre’s Residential Support is provided in a home-like setting in the Boston area, with access to nearby clinical and community resources.
The environment includes private bedrooms, welcoming common areas, family-style dining, stocked kitchens, outdoor space, and opportunities for recreation, group activities, and music.
The setting is intentionally different from an institutional environment. The goal is to provide structure and support in a place that feels warm, respectful, and connected to everyday life.
